i'm Petra!
I'm a passionate plant-based chef who loves to show you how easy it is to cook amazingly delicious, healthy plant-based dishes. With a background in the corporate world I do understand the dynamics of a full-time demanding career and the need for a healthy lifestyle. I take my background in my work and integrate my knowledge into my coaching. I have consciously chosen a different and playful lifestyle, in more harmony with nature. Together with my boyfriend I run a retreat center in the Algarve. In my spare time I still work as a business consultant for a sustainable investment fund in the Netherlands, and organize retreats & guided handpan & reiki ceremonies in Portugal.
My work and study experience
Plant-based food & health has not always played such a big part of my life. After my university degree I worked for a multinational, having challenging yet fun jobs both in my home country the Netherland and abroad in the USA, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. At the age of 32 I decided to not only switch careers but also to change my lifestyle. I have an entrepreneurial and adventurous mindset that got me where I am now, living a free and healthy life, close to nature in Portugal. I founded ‘Food to Root’ to carry out my passion to offer high quality plant-based meals and co-founded ‘A Good Place Portugal‘, a retreat venue to inspire people to adopt a conscious lifestyle.
